The machine is a self contained unit in a cantilevered balcony style design.
Electrical and mechanical drive components are housed and accessible at the rear of the machine. Motion is controlled by servo drives throughout.
The machine has a small footprint of 3.4m long by 2.5m wide (including the out feed conveyor). Product pumps are mounted on the roof of the machine.
Principals of Operation
The thicker base film is mounted in the bottom left corner of the machine. It is unwound under power and fed upwards to the cutting and coding unit. An inkjet printer nozzle applies batch and date information before the knives cut the precision slots in the

film to create the breaking point. At the same time the thinner top film is fed from the spool to meet the base film at the filling station. At this point the base and front films are pressed together whilst the product is dosed in the required quantity at three points. Special heated rollers then compress and seal the film to form three sachets at a time.
Finally, the sheet of formed sachets passes through the cutting station where surplus film web is removed for recycling or disposal. Cutting waste exits from the side of the machine and finished sachets from the front.
Typically the machine is capable of producing 130 sachets (of any size within the range) per minute.
